• This is a bit of a mind trip: Bond is currently being translated into Chinese. Chapter 1 just went up. I'm... 在敬畏. Which I translated through Babelfish, so for all I know, I've just declared myself a transvestite albino werewolf.
  
  
• My shock and awe continues: I got a notice that some lovely people who asked me a while ago if they could translate my stuff into Spanish have started a community, id_traduce. I'm... rather completely blown away. Thus far they have Honestidad (Honesty). It is so weird to read something I wrote, but didn't!

LOL!!

I ♥♥♥ Babelfish. So, so much. Most of me really wants language technology to get better so that someday we can all have reliable language software, and be able to understand one another with all nuances and idioms in place... but part of me desperately wants to delay that as long as possible, just for the Babelfish gems :D :D :D

Babelfish is fun indeed! :) These are gems ... I'm still chortling at the werewolf who had the hots for government bonds... but yeah, sometimes I actually need an accurate translation and Babelfish is very little help, if at all. With a language like Chinese it's even more all over the place because the grammatical structure is completely different; with the romantic and germanic languages, there are always a word or two that we can guess the meaning.

I love choir singing, more than solos... reminds me of my elementary school days — we have lots of choirs and so we always hear distant choir singing all over the campus. We sing hymns as well :D.

I speak Spanish! Well, sort of. I went to a Spanish emersion school for 3 years, and I took classes for forever, but I'm still not 100% fluent. 90%, maybe. ^_^ I was going to type all this in Spanish, but I'm using my iPod and I have no idea how to do accents and such.
