Rule Britannia!

Just came back from my choir's Last Night of the Proms (Ottawa version) performance. Too full of Giddy Happy to update. Summary: we rocked, our three songs went perfectly, All Too Soon was lovely - especially as this year's concert's special guests were war brides, and the song mentions war brides - Jerusalem was glorious, the soloists were great, the brass band was brassy and not blatty, and I haven't seen so many Union Jacks since... well, last year's Proms performance.

You mean as in Ottawa, the capital?

Yup! My home town :)

The Proms (London version) are always fun, whether you are British or not, but are you sure that you aren't just giddy because the men (or was it the basses) gave it to you "slow and hard"? See I have been keeping up (sorta); just quietly as usual.

And thanks for the music!

Whoooo for Proms, being a Brit I'm staunchly in favour of the London version and am highly delighted there are other versions out there.

I'm also a bit of a Classical music fan on occasion and actually try to watch the whole thing rather than just the famous bits near the end. *is geeky*

*does a little Proms dance and sings along badly to Jerusalem*

I didn't actually know much about it until we were invited to sing at the Ottawa one three years ago. It is so damn cool!

This year we even had the British High Commissioner in the audience. Eeee!
