Please for to be excusing me...

  • ...if I've been even slower to answer comments/e-mails than normal. Brain is being eaten alive by &*^%ing bar exam readings. House => filthy, children => joyous (as they're essentially on holiday and they're eating a lot of pizza), eyes => red.

  • Last day to guess fics/art at [livejournal.com profile] hd_worldcup, as tomorrow's the Big Reveal :)

  • I would love to give a bunch of recs. Sadly, I have read very few of the fics. But! [livejournal.com profile] gossymer is a much better reader and a much better person than I, and you can see her recs/comments here: http://gossymer.livejournal.com/tag/fests

Lots of other folks who are also better readers/persons than I have also been reccing, and if I had more time and less legal/academic crap to read, I would link you to their rec posts. Instead I'll just mention them:

    [livejournal.com profile] ayes_sid, [livejournal.com profile] coffeejunkii, [livejournal.com profile] frantic_mice, [livejournal.com profile] marguerite_26, [livejournal.com profile] painless_j, [livejournal.com profile] ravenqueen55, [livejournal.com profile] romaine_24, and [livejournal.com profile] winnett.

BTW, I didn't even compile that list; [livejournal.com profile] anthimaeria did, here. Hers has direct links, too.

I know I missed a few, so if you made recs and would like me to post them, please let me know! This ain't the Daily Snitch of [livejournal.com profile] hd_prophet, but last I checked I had... ::checking:: good Lord! 287 people on my flist, so somebody might read it :)

    For example: http://vaysh11.livejournal.com/11450.html
First two weeks of hd_worldcup: http://vaysh11.livejournal.com/8748.html

  • Prince Caspian? ::swoon::

  • If anybody can explain the following paragraph to me, I will give them my firstborn:

Although the names of the first directors and the address and place of the registered office are included in articles of incorporation under the OBCA, a change in the directors or in the address of the registered office within the municipality or geographic township where the registered office is located or a change in the municipality or geographic township in which its registered office is located to another place in Ontario does not require an amendment to the articles.

Come to think of it, gift of firstborn might not be a big draw; he's too few moons shy of encroaching surly teenagehood. Secondborn, then.

If the company moves or directors change, no amendment to the articles is required. I think :-). Heaven, this is like solving cross-word puzzles. Is it still for your bar exam?

And you may keep your second-born ;-).

Some rare_recs of mine: http://vaysh11.livejournal.com/11450.html
and my recs from the first two weeks of [livejournal.com profile] hd_worldcup: http://vaysh11.livejournal.com/8748.html

I have four more stories to read, then I've read all of them :-).

Still for bar exam. Thanks. I do wonder how you were able to say in 14 words what they said in 79 words. ::is grumpy::

Will add those links. Thanks!

;-) I missed the point about about the municipality of geographic township changing. (One must savour an expresion like geopraphic township).

We all have champagne when you are a lawyer (in Ontario?)!!

i really hope your exam is soon! maybe the madness end after that :)

From your lips to God's ears. ::sigh::

[identity profile] tree00faery.livejournal.com 2008-05-20 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe that paragraph is saying that a change of location or director does not necessitate an amendment to the articles, as long as the company doesn't move outside of Ontario.

(You can keep your children, as I'm not sure I'm correct. And even if I am, you can still keep your children. ^_^)

[identity profile] kestrelsparhawk.livejournal.com 2008-05-20 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I concur with the above. -- I interpret it as:

1) Include the names of your original directors and your address in your articles of incorporation.

2) If the directors or the address changes, you don't need to amend the articles to the new ones.

Oddly enough, I like other people's teenagers. If he gets too horrible, pack him up and mail him to Minneapolis.

I got lost somewhere in that paragraph and ended up panicking thinking that I needed to register my town in Ontario... which I realize makes absolutely no sense!

Omg, the bar! Well, that's quite exciting! I wish you luck with your studying:) Can't say I envy you too much! What kind of law were you thinking about practicing (It's fine if it's personal and you want to keep it to yourself:))?

[identity profile] aarmand78.livejournal.com 2008-05-21 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
It was fun.

[identity profile] sjazzmreow.livejournal.com 2008-05-21 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, hun, don't worry about it. I think everyone knows what it's like to have work eat their life. The very best of luck to you in your study and exam (especially if all the info is as dense as that paragraph. Ugh), and just think, when it's all over you can just soak in a sea of new fic! Yay!

No! Bad Anna! No supporting Disney's evil filming of Narnia! They're doing it WRONG! It's horrible, just horrible, and it causes me such greif. And that casting choice is terrible! He may be dishy, I give you that, but he's not at all Caspian. Why is he so old? Why is his hair like that? Did they read the book? Do they understand the character at all? Just - nonononoNO! *sobs*

"Prince Caspian? ::swoon::"

Oh, yes --- double ::swoon::!!! I saw this last Friday and paid full price, which I rarely ever do. It was certainly worth every penny, and I'm eagerly awaiting Dawn Treader!
