Title: A Small Problem
Author: [livejournal.com profile] enchanted_jae
Pairing: H/D
Rating: NC17
Warning(s): Hell yes, there are warnings! Unfortunately, I really don't know how to put it into words...Er, don't read if you don't have an adventurous sort of humor. (Characters engaged in sexual activity are of age.)
Author's note: I have no excuse for this. None at all.
Summary: A potion mishap won't prevent Harry from having sex with his boyfriend.
Rec: ::wiping eyes:: Yeah, no idea how to rec it. Just go read it. It's short.

There are few things as embarrassing as being part of a first soprano section that has rearranged its seating plan this year, lost some oldtimers and powerhouses and gained some slightly shy new members, right when we're called upon to sing a piece where we soar up to a high B flat, forte (the top of our range generally being high A) and don't... quite... manage to get there. Consistently.

Which does not mean we're inconsistent about getting there. No. We're being distressingly consistent about missing it. And it's really hard to ignore the sound of six women very loudly squeaking the wrong ultra-high note. ::shudders all around:: Some of the seconds started to hint last week that maybe our director should look at how necessary it is to get that particular note. Maybe we could, you know, just join the seconds on their comfy little high E?

There are few things as gratifying as being part of a first soprano section that has worked its ass off trying to get the bloody thing right during sectional practice, and being in the middle of the song as the men come back in from their sectional, and going for it - and making it.

Whoops of approval and applause from your fellow choir members sound sweeter than just about any applause on a stage :) :) :)

Right, I mentioned I'm trying to get myself organized? Been finding all sorts of things I've posted some places but not others, with no rhyme or reason I can discern for where they went or didn't go. Am trying to get the mess straightened out.

Gimme a break, my first fandom was so small, there were only about three BNFs, and I knew all of them. Some days I still feel like a small town girl in the big city ;)

Author's Notes: This fic was written for hd_worldcup 2008, for Team Epilogue, Tarot card prompt "The Fool." Thanks so much to Owensmom, Irishmommy, Calanthe, and Twisted Miracle for extensive beta, Britpick, and, sometimes, entire passages ;)

Warning: This fic is probably the piece I've written that has received the most negative reviews ever. It even unwittingly helped spawn a wankfest that eventually made it all the way to fandomwank, w00t!

'Course, lots of other folks did like it (including me - though of course, I'm a bit biased ;)), but don't think you're weird if you don't like it, because hey! You're in good company :D :D

Also: Draco's wife was referred to as Astoria Greengrass by JRK in an interview, but then the family tree she drew seemed to show the name as Asteria. I chose Asteria because Astoria makes me think of a hotel, and then I think of Paris Hilton, and then it's all downhill from there.
