(OK, I don't actually drive a Volvo, it's a Chevy Cavalier. But I do play soccer.)

I'm at the Comic Book Shoppe with my kids, buying a bunch of D&D figures for one of my son's friends (birthday coming up). The teenage girl behind the counter puts my order through, and I laugh when I read her t-shirt, which says, "Got Yaoi?"

She looks at me funny.

"Nice shirt," I say, and she gives me this pleased, surprised look. Yeah, mid-thirties soccer moms know what Yaoi is too ;)

Somewhat related, this was the one scene I wanted to draw or see the most out of Bond: the scene at the end of chapter 4, where the boys work out their tension in a rather destructive manner in the Great Hall. And [livejournal.com profile] chibitoaster drew it! Wheee!

That was it! Although not that I was noticing, but I think the girl wearing it had slightly larger breasts than the model in the picture ;)

LOL, it looks like it's on a guy or a male mannequin, and if so, I think they want to check their target population. ;) M.

Hee! I can just imagine her face.

I don't think anybody around here knows what slash/yaoi/shoune-ai {or, femmeslash/yuri/shoujo-ai} is. but one day they WILL, ahahahahah.

OI saw the drawing Toaster made yesterday evening, but I had to rush out before telling her anything. I'll do it later today, though. I *love* Harry's stance. And the rushing profs. :D

It's incredible how much movement it has. I'm so jealous; I can never draw anything but still life :(

Ee! But! If you practice, you'll improve! Trust me, you will! I used to suck five months ago, and now I suck a bit less! {Not that I practiced much.}

I like Toaster's style. It's square-ish, but gentle. Does that make sense?

Isn't it?

I'd like one that said "Got slash?", as I don't actually read manga/anime. In fact, I fear it - slash eats more than enough of my brain, I don't need a new addiction ;)

Heh - no, not really, I saw it about a million times before finally looking it up on Wikipedia last year. And here's what Wikipedia says:

Yaoi is a term of Japanese origin used to refer to manga or fan art that focuses on homosexual relationships between male characters. It can be compared with shōnen-ai, which focuses on the same topic, but is (typically) not as graphic in its portrayal of homosexuality. Both categories are now commonly referred to as Boys' Love in Japan.

Hi, I'm just commenting to say that I added you to my flist. I finished reading 'Bond' this morning, and while I'm shit at writing reviews I absolutely adored it, so um. Welcome to my flist. :)

If it was me I'd have the hugest of grins on my face for the rest of the day, like the one I have now despite shitty revision and stuff.

The picture is gorgeous! I started a fanart for Bond for the scene where Harry and Draco are on the chair, doing things and Pansy and the other kind of walk in on them. Yeah >_> that kind of went on hold because of exams...

Oh and you're a mum? I didn't know, that's really cool.

Hooboy. How do you spell "hummenah-hummenah"?

Actually I thought about considering to ponder an attempt to plan a preliminary sketch of that scene... and didn't even get that far ;)

Oh and you're a mum? I didn't know, that's really cool.
Yup. It's a little schizoid, being a parent & HP-fan, and a parent of small HP-fans. Because some stuff, you just can't share, y'know?

Haha yes, imagine that conversation. Wow to have a mum so open-minded and cool *sigh*...mine's quite a homophobe but an absolute laugh otherwise.

On my sketch, I got Harry's expression, head thrown back and stuff (which isn't finalised yet because I have yet to go back to the thing and fix it, not to mention all the other gift arts I had promised friends for Christmas >_> *dies*) and my brain kinda froze.
