road_ahead is currently doing their first Summer League Quidditch game. I have no idea how they're going to actually make a Quidditch game work online, but it should be interesting, especially considering the teams they made. Basically, they decided to take everyone who showed up and stick them into two teams, which means each team got three Beaters and four Chasers, with the line-ups as follows:
Position Team A Team B Keeper Meghan McCormack (Captain) Oliver Wood Chasers Alicia Spinnet, Ginny Weasley, Susan Bones, Marcus Flint Draco Malfoy, Cho Chang, Dean Thomas, Millicent Bulstrode Beaters Katie Bell, Greg Goyle, Bill Weasley Ron Weasley, George Weasley, Angelina Johnson (Captain) Seeker Charlie Weasley Harry Potter
Then Harry and Ron had to bail at the last minute for a very good reason, so the line-up is now:Position Team A Team B Keeper Meghan McCormack (Captain) Oliver Wood Chasers Ginny Weasley, Susan Bones, Marcus Flint, Bill Weasley Draco Malfoy, Dean Thomas, Millicent Bulstrode, Alicia Spinnet Beaters Katie Bell, Greg Goyle George Weasley, Angelina Johnson (Captain) Seeker Charlie Weasley Cho Chang
Should be neat. Hey, they made an impromptu drunken drop-in party at George's flat work (and gather 1069 comments), so a Quidditch game should be no sweat :)- I finally own a copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix DVD!! YAAAY!!
Yeah, I know, what kind of fan am I to not own it yet. Not our fault, seriously. It was supposed to get here before Christmas. But after long and patient weeks of anticipation that gradually turned into angst, we finally cancelled the order from Amazon and just bought it from our local Future Shop. Which we could've done starting December 11. ::sigh:: - Hey, I can type!
87 words - Chapter 8 of Ember to Ember is almost ready for betaing!
- OK, I know there were a whole lot of amazing
hd_holidays fics out there, and I do hope to read & rec a whole lot of them, but this is the one I chortled over most recently:
The Simple Joy of Living, bymahaliem
If I were to share all the parts that made me chuckle, I'd have to quote most of the story, but here's a few:
"Hey, Draco," Harry interrupted. "Wanna see a big snake?"
Draco stopped to stare at Harry. "If that's your idea of a pick-up line, then I'm not surprised you're still a virgin."
"It's not reeeally a snake."
"I figured that out."
Harry knew that he should've argued harder against partnering with Malfoy. But he hadn't been able to help it. Ron had pleaded with him.
"I'm pleading with you," Ron said.
As Ron spoke with Harry, he was also sipping a cup of coffee and flipping through some papers on his desk.
"That doesn't look much like pleading," Harry said.
"I do not know that word," Krum said. "Vot is a cuddlycuns?"
"I had a terrific Christmas," Draco said. "I especially enjoyed my Christmas present from Harry. He got Kinky for me for Christmas."
Ron coughed. "Too much information."
And also? Clueless!Harry makes me so happy :) :) :) - My computer is still MIA. It's been gone since... well, since at least a few days before November 9. But Dell has now called Head Office over the issue, and claim to be Very Concerned, so I'm optimistic that Real Action will happen soon.
In other words, I'm probably going to buy an Apple.

Yeah, I keep hearing that from Mac users. But then again, I'd heard - and experienced - good things from Dell too, so...

Many condolences over your computer! Get a Mac! I'm a confirmed Mac user, and even my onsite tech person (O Man o' Mine) has bought a Mac. Amuses me to no end that at his hi tech job most of the people now own a Mac. LOL!
